Szerintem is vannak jó magyar ételek, de nem gondolom, hogy a magyar konyha a világ legjobbjai között lenne. A magyar ételek közül a paprikás csirkét nokedlival szeretem a legjobban. Az indiait én is szeretem. De szerintem nagyon jó a török konyha is, s szeretem a mexikóit is. De Angliában is ettem jókat. Pl. én nagyon szeretem a beefsteaket angolosan, azaz belül félig nyersen. Jó hozzá a sült krumpli, zöldség és a Worcester-szósz. De a legérdekesebb Londonban a reggeli volt. Az angolok nagyon keveset ebédelnek, de sokat reggeliznek. Bementünk egy helyre reggelizni, s nagyon sok ételt kaptunk: tojást szalonnával, sajtos-sonkás szendvicseket, s a végén valami lekváros fánkot is. Én nem szoktam kávét inni, de egy magyar ismerős nagyon panaszkodott, hogy nem lehet kapni Londonban kávét. Mondtam neki, hogy keressen olasz kávézót, mert Londonban csak az olasz kávézókban lehet "magyar" kávét kapni. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||||||||||||||

Personnaly, I cannot say if I'm A1 or A2, but more likely A1. You on the other hand, seem to be at A2 ( a solid one) if we consider how you are writing :). Maybe the speaking and the listening aren't the same and I can rely to that.
I listen a lot to kossuth radio. It may be boring - but as I don't understand every word or phrase, that doesn't bother me. So I form my "ear" to Hungarian and sometimes I even recognize some words I learnt - that's my personnal pride :). www.mr1-kossuth.hu The reading is more scarcely, because I do not have an amount of vocabular that allows that (but I understand most of the time perfectly what you are saying in this thread). And more important, I do not own a lot of Hungarian books. I have "Egri csillagok", which is pretty difficult, some "Elle" magazine and a poem book. My kid book does not proved any utility to me. The word "etc" is used in Hungarian only in scientific books, in colloquial use the word "stb" is used, pronounced "satöbbi", it comes from "és a többi".
A Rudas Gyógyfürdő "is" cannot be used at the beginning of a sentence and cannot be used before the word for which is meant. So: "Nagyon jó élmény IS volt". sokAT hallgatni ŐKET "ízlik" is used for food, you should use "tetszik" érzem! "a magyar emberek nagyon büszkék a nyelvükRE"

Try to read newspapers. My lexical knowledge in English is from reading articles in TIME and NEWSWEEK magazines. Now, you can read on the internet too. Try this http://nol.hu/ - political newspaper. Just a quick one to say that I don't have much time on Mondays so can't reply to your messages yet. Tomorrow and Wednesday I have more time. Thanks a lot though for all the corrections Maxval and thanks also to Kisfroccs for the offer of the kids' book, that would be great! I find them useful at this stage, I still remember which words I learned in Czech from kids' books about 5 years ago.
