The 1973 admin changes are interesting (plus I harvested a few words for later word-
listing...). I looked up "sogn" and saw "parish" which is exactly what our rural
administration unit was, and still is. (No doubt tied up to Church history if we go back
far enough, but even Church of England Parishes these days don't usually correspond to
administrative ones). Interesting that we also had a local government reform in 1974
(being dreamed up in 1973 or thereabouts, no doubt). Must have been the fashion at the
time!

Since my last message I have done some real work at my office, but I hadn't received all the data I needed so around eight o'clock I had to stop. Which meant that I had time to make one more video today, this time with French as its theme. However I have also started to sneeze and cough so the sound quality may have suffered. At least I can hide my red nose and running eyes behind the paintings, but my voice isn't tip-top right now..

I'm still quite busy at my job, and yesterday evening I also spent time listening to music by Carl Maria von Weber (yes, I'm getting near the end of the alphabet), but I managed to squeeze in some pages in Icelandic about the lake Mývatn and volcanism in that area.

Apart from that I'm preparing for my videos about paintings in the 'languages series' - and this is a problem because I sometimes have forgotten either the author depicted or the work(s) depicted - or both. For instance I have a painting with a Portuguese theme called "Alcool"(without an author name) - guess what happens if I do a Google search for that word! In other cases I have writted the name of an author down, but not the precise work(s) I used - like in the case of the Greek nobelprize winner Seferis. When I did the painting I knew the Greek alphabet and a few words, and I had a dictionary, but I couldn't read the language so I must have used a translation. But of which work? I might have to read through all his poems to find the one I used, and I simply don't have time for that right now.

formidable.
