No, it is the fixed expression that is used in Danish instead of "That's all folks" at the end of many American cartoons. The 25øre is a Danish coin with the value of approx. 0,03 €, - this little red coin was abolished earlier this year.

LAT.: Deinde in urbem ii cibum emere. Pro cibo librum emi "Gesta Danorum" Saxonis Grammatici, auctor danicus medievalis. Editio bilingualis est et post "..tironibus facilia lectu.." me certe multes noctes occupabit. Ex istud librum Shakespeare auctor britannicus inspirationem spectaculi "Hamlet" traxit.

----

Summary in English:

When I had finished moving my log this morning I watched some travel films from Holland over the interent. In one of them a female presenter had somehow got inside Saudiarabia, where she stayed in an all-female hotel. In another the presenter spoke to a girl that had travelled around the world for three years, hitchhiking and sleeping for free in the houses of local people - such travellers are apparently called "boardsurfers" in English (I prefer the word 'parasite', as in Dutch). What a contrast in degree of freedom for women!

Then I went out to buy some food and came back with an expensive bilingual edition of Saxo's Gesta Danorum (Latin + Danish), a cornerstone in Danish literature and the source of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

In the early afternoon I just copied half a page from my Greek book about Delfi, - I had to save time for some Greek three-column wordlists AND for writing part of this text. As I have written elsewhere I find books indespensable for learning idioms and 'Sprachgefühl', but wordlists based on dictionaries are more effective when it comes to learning single words. I could learn ten words in the time it took me to give up tryring to translate the words in a certain passage in the Greek book. And the Italian translation also had to refer to something called a 'polos', apparently something that women can wear on their heads, so I'm not the only one with a translation problem.

After that I had to spend time at the annual general meeting in my travel club (I chaired the meeting so I had to be there). When I came home I watched "Genial daneben" in SAT1 (in German), - a show where a group of stand-up comedians have to guess the meaning of some expressions provided by people all over Germany (and a hard test for your understanding of spoken German). I already knew why a Titicaca-frog has big skin folds - it is a compensation for the minimal amount of oxygene in the water in the famous high altitude lake. On the other hand it was the tema that found the meaning of "Euterspender" ('udder dispenser'): it is the thing with "remoulade" (tartare sauce according to my dictionary) or mayonnaise that hangs down from the ceiling in some burger joints.

Enough for today...

I've read the Danish text, but the last sentence was not possible to understand for me. I think that you have wrote : there I was finished with this, until I went to the general meeting of my travel club. There stayed ........danish.

Te deseo buena suerte con tu Log. Bis demnächst. Ciao.

EN: Right now I'm of course sitting at my computer writing this text, but I'm also watching AND listening to a program at BBC prime about the bloodthirsty small velociraptors, who apparently didn't rip up the bellies of their victims as shown in Jurassic Park, - but I'm nevertheless quite satisfied that I won't meet these critters in the local supermarket. Of course I won't learn anything from a linguistical point of view, but I'm also interested in palaeontology so it is not just a waste of time.

--------

Summary in English:

`Einwouders` is nonsense, I have seen the rare word "inwouden" somewhere and proceeded to invent an addition to the Dutch language. I should have written "inwoners".

I have spend some time this afternoon copying a Russian text, looking up words and producing a wordlist from the harvest - exactly the same process that I described for Greek yesterday. It also faintly resembles ProfArguelles' scriptorium, but without the sounds and instead with output in the form of wordlists. Today's text is in fact a reused text from GLOSS about Soviet (and Russian) housing. Because even the easiest texts from GLOSS are too difficult for a total novice I spent the first reading looking up practically all words, checking all endings etc. This time things are going much more smoothly - of course. It is a very scary text - I can just see a whole bunch of peasants and workers invading my humble flat, forcing me to live in the cupboard! But apparently that's what happened to the good burghers from the prerevolutionary time when the bolcheviks took over: peasants streamed to the towns and were placed in other people's homes! Arrgh!

I'm still listening to that program about Velociraptors and other extinct beasts. Right now a couple of featherclad raptors are butchering a baby Ankylosaur.

About five lines down from here I'm going to shut down the computer. I intend to listen to a cassette tape with classical Danish music, writing down the main themes. This is part of a minor project involving 700 old tapes, so even if I have a long time horizon and much patience it does take some time from my language studies. If I'm lucky I can squeeze in a word list or two tonight, not more.

Winkler Prins Mini, Dinosauriers, 2003

Thank you for the tranlsation. Danish looks very fun and interesting. I like very much the letters like, for example: æ. I suppose that this is ä?

I won't correct the whole Russian text if you don't mind, but I'd like to mention that the participles can only be used like adjectives in Russian, you have to use деепричастия (no clue what's the English term) if you mean "while doing", and in sentences like your first one it's probably better to use "usual" forms - Сегодня я занимался русским: я переписывал тексты от руки, ... (копировать means copy using some techncical means, ie to make a photocopy or copy and paste electronically).
And as far as I remember it's not for the first time that I see you write "грамматика" with three M's :D it was probably just a typo, but just in case - the only Russian word with a triple letter is длинношеее :)
