ESP: Mi hieraux ricevis la officalan "Dua Bulteno" de UEA sur papero. Tio konvenas al mi, cxar merkredon mi renkontos la Esperantistinon por priparoli la hotelmendon, la ekskursojn kaj la financojn. Mi mem ne intencas fari oficialan ekskurson, cxar mi memstare volas viziti la natursciencan museon, la Tycho-Brahe-planetarion kaj librovendejojn en Kopenhago.
Mi en la televido-programo "Phoenix" vidis interesan dokumentadon pri la paleontologoj kiuj trovas dinosauxrojn en la Usona stato Utah. Oni tie jam trovis sufice multe da dinosauxroj kaj estas diversaj natursciencaj museoj tie. Uno dinosauxron oni ecx nomis "Utahraptor". DE: In den Vereinigten Staaten gibt es Disneyland und Disneyworld. Als ich 7 Jahre alt war, habe ich mit meiner Familie Disneyland besucht. Davon hat mein Vater noch Fotos.
Ich würde mich eher darauf konzentrieren, dein Englisch weiter zu verbessern, solange du noch zur Schule gehst und den Schulabschluss noch nicht in der Tasche hast. Wenn du fertig mit der Schule bist, kannst du dann weiter überlegen, welche Sprache du noch lernen willst. Esperanto hat den Vorteil, dass man im eigenen Land Kontakt zu Leuten haben kann, die die Sprache sprechen. In Wallonien gibt es einen Esperantobund, der "Association pour l'Espéranto / Asocio por Esperanto" heißt. Dieser git die Zeitschrift "Espéranto en Marche" heraus. Drei Jahre lang hatte ich diese Zeitschrift abonniert, sie ist zweisprachig Esperanto / Französisch. In Flandern gibt es die "Flandra Esperanto Ligo", aber ich wollte wegen Französisch die wallonische Zeitschrift lesen. Einer der bekanntesten Esperantisten in Wallonien ist Marcel Delforge. DE: Ich habe nur wenig Geld zur Verfügung, daher kann ich nicht alles abonnieren, was für meine Sprachen nützlich zu lesen ist. Ich fand die Zweisprachigkeit dieser wallonischen Esperantozeitschrift gut. 2004 hat diese Zeitschrft 12 EUR pro Jahr gekostet, das ist noch nicht einmal so teur. Aber ich bin bereits Abonnentin der Zeitschrift von Esperanto Nederland (= einsprachig auf Esperanto) und ich muss mich sowieso immer einschränken, wenn um fianzielle Ausgaben geht.

To Kuikentje: you already know how to learn languages. Maybe your problem with English is that you have jumped into it without getting the foundations right, and in that case you could try to pretend that English was a new and strange language which you had to learn from scratch. That is, study details and patterns and expressions as if you never had seen English before, and don't take it for granted. That's in fact what I'm doing at the moment for instance to learn Norwegian: I can understand practically everything I see and hear, but I have to 'forget' that and look at texts in Norwegian as if Norway suddenly had appeared out of the blue somewhere up North. So I copy passages from the internet, listen to Norwegian speech not for the meaning, but for the 'melody', and I try to find a pattern in the way those strange beings use the ending '-a'. Well, maybe I'll write something about that later..
So wichtig ist es wohl auch nicht Esperanto zu lernen. Esperanto mit intensivem Gebrauch von affixen kann zwar schwer zu verstehen sein, aber die Esperantisten schreiben meistens über Esperanto und Weltfrieden, und dann sind die Details nicht wichtig. Der Witz über "CaliforniaBesucherausUtahraptor" is gut gelungen! Aber wie sollten die arme Paläontologen wissen können, daß der Kerl aus Utah käme? "NYTT ÅR OG HØL I TRYNET" . Eg har henta dette uttrykket hos Ida, ei norsk jente som har levd i Tyskland - det er visst noe om at få ein piercing i nesa. Hviss einn kun leser bokmål, får einn aldri noe inntrykk av korleis norsk mål lyter, men til tross for at nordmennene sjøl mest velja å skrive på bokmål (som nesten ser ut som dansk) er det sjølklart nynorsk som verkar meist 'norsk'. Og Idas blog er eikkje aleine moro, men óg så norsknorsk som Dovregubba og eit fint korrektiv til allt det mye bokmåla.
Ein smaksprøve på Ida sin skrivkonst: Dessutan snakka eg med Jenny på tlf i dag. Var kjempe kosleg :D - Ringte først å prøvde meg på engelsk .. men han i andra enden mummla noko på italiensk og la på. Ringte oppigjen med ein gong og sa bare "JENNY, JENNY, JENNY" (med forskjellige utalelsar JENNY, CHENNY, SJENNY å fuglane vete...) å da hørte eg bare "aha, Chenny, Sie , Sie". UÆ! - Glad eg reiste te Tyskland så eg iallefald forstår Ja og Nei! Eg har funnit videoer på forskjellige norske dialekta på Youtube. Her er lista min: Dokumentar om de to forskjellige bergenske sosiolektene: gatebergensk og 'fint'. Og der er flott musik! "Plain stavangersk" - og meir stavangersk her Norsk fra bl.a. Sunedalen. Ei typisk kommentar : "Surnadaling dialekta forsto jeg ikke noe fra" Norsk fra Finnmarken Dialekt fra Sogn og fjordane. Og her ei SMS-ordbok på nynorsk! To train my intercranial Norwegian I prefer reading Nynorsk (New Norwegian), even though most Norwegians write Bokmål - it is simply much more suggestive of the way Norwegians actually speak (although they speak in quite different dialects, as evidenced by the Youtube videos above). One of my more entertaining sources is a blog written by a girl named Ida, who had an immersion stay in Germany. In the quote she makes fun of her attempts to call a friend who apparently stays with a family somewhere in Italy. I wrote this rant about silent periods on a blog, but would like also to have it here for easy reference (and to be able to correct a few typing errors):
---- There is one case where I wouldn't adhere to the idea of a silent period - namely if I'm travelling. There you have to use whatever you have got while you have the chance. Apart from that I support the idea. Actually I also think it is worthwhile for beginners to listen for the sounds without caring too much about the meaning. Trying to jump directly to understanding means either that you live on unreliable guesswork or you have to choose extremely simple texts. It's the same thing with speaking. If you do it too early you have to cut corners by resorting to a narrow vocabulary, simple constructions and prelearned chunks - nothing wrong with chunks by the way, but your speech shouldn't be limited to yes yes no no. So while you build up your skills you certainly should train your active skills, but this can be done by writing, by speaking to yourself or by thinking. Then you aren't wasting other people's time, and you don't have to feel pushed to cut corners (and you don't have to pay a teacher). The risk is of course that you can't see your own errors, but provided that you are willing to revise your habits it is much easier to correct errors when you are slightly more advanced - not while you are still struggling to form a simple sentence.
