제가 The Real CZ라고 해요.

Introduction

Hello!. My name is The Real CZ. I'm 24 years old. This year I'll be graduating again
and will start working in the fall. Also since I will be sitting for the CPA
(Certified Public Accountant) Exam, I am studying a lot so that I can pass it in one
sitting. I can receive a $5,000 bonus [for passing the test].

I started studying Korean in 2009. The reason I started studying Korean is because I
am half Korean. Since I thought it would be cool if I could speak Korean, I started
learning it. Before I started learning Korean, I had some interest in Taekwondo, but
there was a lot that I didn't know about Korea.

I started listening to Korean music in 2008. At first I only listened to BoA and Epik
High. At that time, I really (really really x infinity) liked BoA (and still do), and
it was to the point that I didn't need to listen to songs from other singers. In 2009
I started listening to idol groups and started watching Korean dramas. When I first
saw Song Hye Kyo, an actress, I thought that I needed to watch Korean dramas. All
because she is very hot (pretty).

I studied Korean intensively from 2009 through 2012, but haven't really studied it
that much since 2013. It seems like studying other foreign languages has been
meaningless. Since my passion for Korean is still really strong, I'll be focusing in
Korean this year. My 2015 wish is for my Korean to become advanced.

You're welcome! If you need help with the technical HTML stuff let me know, it's been a longtime hobby of mine :)

It's good to see I'm not the only newbie around! And if anyone has suggestions for a complete beginner, I'll be happy to welcome them. The courses I have are Michel Thomas, Pimsleur, Assimil, Teach Yourself plus a small book I got when I studied Japanese the first time and I couple of other books (Colloquial Japanese and Beginners Japanese Script).

My Japanese has become so bad that I might not even try to write anything. I'm planning
to focus more on Japanese when the exam period is over.

First my Mandarin intro. The rest will come later!

Hello Everyone, my name is Mathias, but my Asian friends call me Mathi. I'm 24 years old. I
finished my classes last December. But I haven't graduated yet. I still have to write my
thesis. So these days, I'm writing my thesis and looking for a job. My major is Marketing
and Sales. I'm currently looking for a position of Project Management in the translation
industry.
I have been studying Chinese for already two years. But I still cannot speak well. Because
I can read (and understand) Japanese, I often use that ability to understand Chinese. But
even though I can read, I can't pronunce out loud many characters. I think that because of
that ability, I haven't studied enough Chinese pronunciation (feeling satisfied for
understanding enough).
This year, I don't think I'll study too much Chinese, but I want to improve my
pronunciation and read several small books.
Good for this year guys!

PS: If there's anybody who can correct my text, please don't hesitate! Thanks~

I'm still learning like you, but hopefully i can help out some. If someone else with a better understanding of Mandarin can come by that'd be great, but here's some things i noticed for now:
-you wrote 家 instead of 叫. ;)
-having too many 的s in a row sounds awkward, i would say 我亚洲(的)朋友
-i don't think 们 is usually used here, i find it's more used in speeches and things when directly addressing those people. In wuxia films, you'll always hear 兄弟们! At school, you might hear
-i dunno if this is correct, but i don't think 完 is usually used this way.
-an alternative to this might be:
-i've never heard this saying before (but my Chinese isn't that great either), are you talking about your 专业吗?
You don't normally say You'd say 你能听懂吗 或者 你听得懂吗? and i think the same applies to 会, but i'm not sure.
-here's how i'd say it:
-i think 进步 is generally an intransitive verb. I'd use another verb such as 提高: 提高我的发音水平.

Thank you guys for adding more Mandarin to the dough =D You wrote quite a lot, yuhakko, and your corrections were helpful, Crush. I was thinking on the same line as your corrections above, which surprises me a bit.

和 is not normally used for connecting sentences or even longer nominal complements. Besides what Crush suggested, I'd have imagined something in the likes of 我在写我的论文,还/也在找工作, but I'm not sure it's correct.

It really is hard to get used to the Chinese syntax and to produce it naturally.
