Again it's been a while since my last update, which is mainly due to the fact that Mari
is having a friend to stay and hasn't written for a while! However, the Georgian continues to chug along nicely, although the pace has slowed a little. At my class yesterday we started working on the object affixes of verbs. I had been looking forward to this as I didn't really feel confident I'd understood them properly on my own. Funnily enough, they seem pretty straightforward so far, although the fact that გნახავთ means all of "I will see you (pl)", "S/he will see you (pl)", "We will see you (sing)", and "We will see you (pl)" is still somewhat mind-boggling to me. My main concern at the moment is that I'm getting no speaking practice whatsoever. My class, although very enjoyable, continues to be focused almost completely on grammar explanations, and although I can write quite complex messages to Mari with the help of all my textbooks and dictionaries and a lot of time, I have the feeling that if I took a flight to Tbilisi tomorrow I would barely be able to order a beer (and what is a trip overseas without beer?) I'm thinking I might ask my teacher if he knows someone who can give me some conversation practice once a week. The pros of this are obvious, but the cons are that I might end up having to travel across this huge city to meet the tutor, which would be hugely tiresome, and the tutor may not be particularly skilled or interesting, and I may advance too quickly beyond the level of my class, which would make my class boring. Can't decide... On a completely non-Georgian-related note (or at least very tenuously linked), I have been having a bit of a spending splurge on some Socialist Realist posters and magazines, which I adore, and they've been arriving over the past couple of days. პირველ რიგში, ბოდიშს გიხდი ამდენ ხანs ვერ მოგწერე. qოველ დღე გავდიოდით ხან სად და ხან სად. სახლში ქი ისეთი დაღლილი ვბრუნდებოდი, რომ მაშინვე მეძინებოდა. ჩემი მეგობარო გუშინ გავაცილე საბერძნეჩი. ნინო ბერძენი არაა, ქართველია და საქართველოში გავიცანი როცა 18 წლის ვიყავი! მე საბერძნეში არ ვყოფილვარ. ნინომ დამპათიჯა, მაგრამ არ ვიცი თუ წავალ. ამ კვირაში ამსტერდამის თითქმის ყველა მუზეუმი ვნახე. ასევე, ბევრი ადგილი ფეხით შემოვიარეთ. მოკლედ, ძალიან კმაკოფილი ვარ. ბევრი ფოტოც გადავიღეთ. ცუდია რომ ვერ გაჩვენებ ფოტოებს. ბაღოსნობა საინტერესოა. ძალიან მაინტერესებს როგორ გამოიკურება შენი ბაღი."I am growing strawberries etc."- მომყავს მარწყვი და ა.შ. ისე, იაპონიაში როგორი კლიმატია ბაღოსნობისთვის? მე ვიცი რომ თოკიo ძალიან მჭიდროდ დასახლებული ქალაქლია. არ მეგონა თუ ბაღების ადგილიც იყო! საქართველოში ვაზის კულტურაა განვითარებული. ჩემ სოფელში მეც კი დამიკრეფია ყურძენი! შენ ბოლო პოსტში წერ რომ სასაუბრო ქართულიში ვარჯიში გინდა. ეგ მართლა ძალიან მნიშვნელოვანია. კარგი იქნებოდა როგორმე დახმარება შემეძლოს! ახლა კი ჯობია მეცადინეობა დავიწყო, რადგან ამ დგეებში ბევრი სამეცადინო დამიგროვდა. ერთი სული მაყვს როდის გავა ეს თვენახევარი რომ ჩემი ახლობლებთან წავიედ! აბა დრობით! გაუმარჯოს! ბოდიშის მოხდა არ საჭიროა. ვიცოდი რომ შენ დაკავებული იყავი. კარგია
რომ შენი მეგობართან ერთად სასიამოვნოდ დრო გაატარე. მეც ინგლისში მეგობრები მყავს რომელი გავიცანი როცა 5 წლის ვიყავი. ეხლა ძალიან იშვიათად ვხვდებით ერთმანეთს, მაგრამ როგორც კი მათ ვხვდები ვსაუბრობთ თითქოს ყოველდღე ვხვდებოდით ერთმანეთს. ბაღოსნობა კვლავ კარგად მიდის :) როცა გითხარი რომ ჩემი ბაღი პატარაა, ეს გაზვიადება არ იყო. ჩემი ბაღია მართლაც ძალიან ძალიან პატარა! მართალი ხარ რომ ტოკიო ძალიან მჭიდროდ დასახლებული ქალაქლია, და ამიტომ მე გამოვლინდა რომ მაქვს ჩემი პატარა ბაღი :) მგონი ტოკიოს კლიმატი ალბათ მსგავსია თბილისის ან ხმელთაშუა ზღვის კლიმატს. ზამთარში არ ასე ცივა, ზაფხულში კი ძალიან ცხელა და ნესტიანიაც. ჩემი ბაღი ჩრდილში არის, ამიტომ იმედია რომ ბოსტნეული არ მოკვდება ზაფხულში :S უკვე ორ საათს იმ პოსტს ვწერ (!), ამიტომ სულ ეს არის დღეს. აბა დროებით. ფილ ENGLISH: Hi! You don't need to apologize. I knew you were busy. I'm glad that you had a nice time with your friend. I also have friends in England who I met when I was 5 years old. We meet each other very rarely now, but as soon as I meet them we chat as if we met each other every day. The gardening is still going well. When I told you that my garden was small it was not an exaggeration. My garden is really very very small! You're right that Tokyo is a very densely populated city, and so I am lucky to have my little garden. I think that Tokyo's climate is probably similar to the climate of Tbilisi or the Mediterranean. In winter it is not so cold, but in summer it is very hot and humid. My garden is in the shade, so I hope that the vegetables won't die in the summer. I have already been writing this post for two hours (!), so that's all for today. Phil By the way, if anyone is thinking about copying the Georgian I've used in my posts, DON'T DO IT! შენი პოსტებიდან ჩანს რომ იუმორის გრძნობა გაკვს. ეს ძალაინ კარგია! ამის გამო, უფრო სახალისო ხდება შენი ნაწერის წაკითხვა :) ქართულის გაკვეთილებზე რა ხდება? როგორ მიდის საქმე? მასწავლებელი გამოგეცვალათ? შენი ჯგუფელები რას შვრებიან? მოტივაცია ისევ აქვთ თუ გაზარმაცდენ? მე ეს ბოლო რამოდენიმე დღეა სახლში სულ მარტო ვარ :) ჩემი ოთახის პატრონები საფრანგეთში წავიდნენ 10 დღით. უი, თუმცა სულ მარტო არ ვარ, 2 კატა დამიტოვეს და სახლში რომ ვბრუნდები მათ ვუვლი. ისე, ცოტა მოვიწყინე ეს დღეები. ბევრი სამეცადინო მომიგროვდა, რადგან წინა კვირას სულ არ მიმეცადინია. თანაც უკვე დავიღალე და სწავლა ცოთა მომბეზრდა. ერთი სული მაქვს, როდის დაიწყება არდადაგები! აბა დროებით! წარმათებებს გისურვებ ბაღოსნობაში! :) Mari 1 person has voted this message useful | |

ბედნიერი ვარ, რომ მოგწონს ჩემი პოსტები :) მიხარიაც რომ სასაცილოა ჩემი იუმორის გრძნობა, და არა ჩემი ქართული ;) დღეს წავედი სკოლაში ქართულ გაკვეთილზე. ჩემი მასწავლებელი და თანაკლასლები ყველა კარგი ადმიანები არიან, მაგრამ კლასის სიჩქარე ძალიან ნელაა, ამიტომ ჩემთვის ხანდახან მოსაწყენია. თანაც ჩვენ ყოველთვის ვსწავლობთ მხოლოდ გრამატიკას და თითქმის არასოდეს ვლაპარაკობთ ქართულად. რასაკვირველია ვიცი რომ გრამატიკაც მნიშვნელოვანია, მაგრამ მინდა ვილაპარაკო ქართულად! ვფიქრობ რომ იაპონიაში არავინ არ იცის, როგორ უნდა ისწავლო და ასწავლო უცხო ენები. დღევანდელ გაკვეთილზე დამატების პრეფიქსებს ვსწავლობდით (მაგალითად: მნახავ, გნახავ, გვნახავთ). კლასის საბოლოო 15 წუთს ჩვენ ვუსმენდით ქართულ ხალხურ სიმღერას. სიმღერის სახელია "მოდი, ვნახოთ ვენახი". შენ იცი ეს სიმღერა? ეს გაკვეთილის ნაწილი საინტერესო იყო, მაგრამ ძალიან მოკლე! ბოდიში რომ ამ პოსტში ბევრი ჩივილია! (რა არის ქართულად "I have complained a lot"?) იმედია რომ ყველაფერი კარგად მიდის შენთან. ჰოლანდიაში ჯერ ცივა? ტოკიოში უკვე 30 გრადუსია :S აქ ეხლა ექვსი საათია. ამ პოსტის დაწერის შემდეგ ჩემ ძაღლს პარკში წავიყვან სასეირნოდ, და როცა ვბრუნდები, ვივახშმებ, ლუდს დავლევ, და ტელევიზორს ვნახავ. რა საინტერესო ცხოვრება მაქვს, არა? :) შენ რას გააკეთებ ამ საღამოს? Phil ENGLISH (my longest ever post in Georgian! Sadly not one of my most interesting): Hello Mari. I'm happy that you like my posts. I'm also glad that it is my sense of humour that is funny, and not my Georgian! Today I went to school for my Georgian lesson. My teacher and fellow students are all nice people, but the speed of the class is very slow, and so it is sometimes boring for me. Also, we always study only grammar and almost never speak Georgian. Of course I know that grammar is also important, but I want to speak Georgian! I think that in Japan, nobody knows how foreign languages should be learned and taught. In today's lesson we studied object prefixes (for example: mnakhav, gnakhav, gvnakhavt). In the last fifteen minutes of the class we listened to a Georgian folk song. The name of the song is "Let's go and see the Grapes"*. Do you know this song? This part of the lesson was interesting, but very short! I'm sorry that there are lots of complaints in this post! (How do you say in Georgian "I have complained a lot"?) I hope everything is going well with you. Is it still cold in Holland? In Tokyo it is already 30 degrees! It's now 6 o'clock here. After writing this post I will take my dog to the park for a walk, and when I return, I will eat dinner, drink some beer, and watch TV. What an interesting life I have, huh? გაუმარჯოს!
მართალი ხარ, მხოლოდ გრამატიკის სწავლა მოსაწყენია. თან მარტო გრამატიკის მეცადინეობით, ლაპარაკს ვერ ისწავლი.ეგ ქართული სიმღერა მეცოდინება, მაგრამ ახლა ვერ ვიხსენებ მელოდიას. complain-ის შესატყვისი მართლაც "ჩივილია", მაგრამ ქართველი იტყოდა, "ბოდიში, რომ ბევრს ვწუწუნებ" :) ალბათ ეს სიტყვა სასაცილოდ ჟღერს უცხოელისთვის :) 6 საათზე უკვე გღვიძავს?! ადრე გყვარებია ადგომა. მე ბევრი მძინავს, რაც არც ისე კარგია, რადგან ბევრ დროს "ვკარგავ". მაგალითად, 9-10 საათი თუ არ დავიძინე დღე-ღამეში, მერე ციდად ვგრძნობ თავს. სიმართლე გითხრა, ვცდილობდი შემემცირებია ძლილის საათები, მაგრამ უარესი გამოვიდა. როცა ნაკლები მეძინა, მთელ დღეს ვკარგადვდი, რადგან ენერგია არ მქონდა და სულ მეძინებოდა. ჩემი დღეები არ არის მაინცდამაინც საინტერესო და თავგადასავლებით სავსე. ძირითადად ვმეცადინეობ. თან ახლა წლის ბოლოა და მინდა თავის დროზე მოვრჩე საქმეს და სახლში (საქართველოში) მალე წავიდე. სამწუხაროდ აქ ახლობელი მეგობარი ვერ გავიჩინე ჯერ-ჯერობით და ცოტა მარტო ვგრძნობ თავს :) ისე, TV-ს ყურება მე არც ისე ძალიან მიყვარს, განსაქუთრებით ქართულის! მოკლედ, რაც ჩემი მეგობარი ნინო წავიდა არაფერი საინტერესო არ გამიკეთებია. სულ ეს არის დღეს! დრობით 1 person has voted this message useful | |

როცა მე დავწერე ჩემი წინა პოსტი, საღამოს 6 საათი იყო და არა დილით. დილით 6 საათიდან რომ ლუდს ვსვამდე, დიდი პრობლემა იქნებოდა! მიუხედავად ამისა, მე ყოველთვის საკმაოდ ადრე ვიძინებ და საკმაოდ ადრე ვიღვიძებ. ჩვეულებრივ მე დახლოებით თერთმეტის ნახევარზე ვიძინებ და დახლოებით ექვსის ნახევარზე ვიღვიძებ. ჩემთვის დილა არის დღის საუკეთესო ნაწილი. დასანანია რომ შენ ვერ გაიჩინე ახლობელი მეგობარი ჰოლანდიაში. ჰოლანდიური უკვე აღარ სწავლობ? მე მგონია რომ ახლობელი მეგობრის გაცნობა ძალიან ძნელია საზღვარგარეთ მცხოვრებისთვის. რამდენ ხანს იქნები ჰოლანდიაში? რას გააკეთებ გასვლის შემდეგ? მე ალბათ გარკვეული ხნით იაპონიაში იქნები, მაგრამ მინდა ერთხელ მომავალში დავბრუნდე ინგლისში და ვიყიდო სახლი რომელს უფრო დიდი ბაღი აქვს :) TV-ს ყურება მეც არც ისე ძალიან მიყვარს. როცა ვცხოვრობდი ინგლისში ხშირად ვუყურებდი, მაგრამ იაპონულის ტელევიზორი მართლაც საშინელია! ამიტომ მირჩევნია ყურება ფილმები თუ უცხოელი სერიალები. აბა დროებით. Phil ENGLISH: Hello Mari. Thanks for your post. When I wrote my previous post it was 6 o'clock in the evening, not the morning. If I were to drink beer from 6 o'clock in the morning it would be a big problem! Nevertheless I always go to bed quite early and get up quite early. I usually go to bed around 10:30 and get up at around 5:30. For me, morning is the best part of the day. It's a pity that you haven't been able to make close friends in Holland. Are you not studying Dutch anymore? I think it is very difficult for people who live overseas to make close friends. How long will you be in Holland? What will you do after you leave? I will probably be in Japan for the time being, but one day in the future I want to return to England and buy a house with a bigger garden! I also don't like watching TV all that much. When I lived in England I often used to watch it, but Japanese TV is truly terrible! Therefore, I prefer watching films and foreign series. Talk to you soon. Phil I suppose the most notable thing grammatically about this post is that I have attempted to use a participle for the first time in the phrase საზღვარგარეთ მცხოვრებისთვის (sazghvargaret mtskhovrebistvis), which means, I hope, "for those living overseas". I still don't really know the rules for forming participles from all verbs so this is just an isolated usage, but I found it in one of my textbooks and thought I would try it out. 1 person has voted this message useful |
