I am surprised no one else has posted this, so I guess I will. What are your New Year's Resolutions? Both specifically for languages, and, in general for 2012.

Reach an advanced level in Chinese, Spanish, and Persian. Reach an intermediate level in Turkish, Russian, and French. I'm probably aiming a bit too high. Oh well, either way it will be fun.

Well, I've returned to French as a false beginner and aiming to reach an upper intermediate level by the end of 2012. Very reachable and realistic goal I think, that's if I put the time in.
Happy new year everyone! :-)

2011 was a year of getting to know a lot of new languages, but 2012 will be a year where I solely seriously focus
on becoming very comfortable in two languages: Russian and Turkish. I will also focus somewhat on Korean, as
this is the only language I'll actually attend a course for, but I suspect that this won't be too demanding.
Nevertheless, I will also continue to study Old English until I've read Beowulf. Other languages will become
secondary, but I'll try (and hopefully will!) succeed in improving them all notably.

My new years's wow last year was not to make new years wows ever, and thereby I honoured my new years wow from the preceding year, and so forth.

I learned this past year at school you should never go more than 2 days without exercise, so I decided I don't want to go more than 2 days without studying my languages.
I also want to get through Assimil Spanish and French courses.
I also want to spend as little money on language resources as I can, since I keep spending money on language books and and then I don't use them.
I should also spend more time studying languages than reading about them . . . in English.

I hope to further my exploration of Turkish literature, since compared to Arabic and Persian, I have not looked at it as much. Plus, I hope to practice speaking a lot more as well and exposing myself to more Turkish media in general.
I also plan to amp it up on Russian, since I have been more of an "on and off" student with it than with my other languages.
It would also be cool to take a look at Swahili.
