I usually make lots of resolutions, which are only good for annoying me later. So in that
spirit:
1) Be happy. Only do things and spend time with people who make me happy. Avoid stress.
2)Get to C2 DELE level in Spanish by next January, even if I don't actually take the exam
yet.
And that's it, folks.

I can't make internal links at this computer, but there's a very good first post in the thread "30 Days: How
to Improve Self-Discipline". It's also tagged under "success story", "motivation" and "study plan", and begun by
user emk, if you need to use the forum "search" feature. I've also posted (on page 3 of that thread) a
couple of quotes on "discipline" you folks making resolutions may find helpful.

As for my own resolutions? - I tend not to make them as such in January, preferring September, in autumn and
the start of a new academic year (even if I'm not actually going to school).

Fluent Spanish by June/July, advanced Italian by December (?), 1000+ simplified characters + low-intermediate Mandarin by 2013.
Possibly aiming too high, but I will take this year seriously.
My personal challenge is to study something (anything, really) everyday.

I'm not one to make resolutions, but I've been away from languages for way too long -
about two years. I'll possibly have the opportunity to travel and practice some languages
in about a year or two, so I have motivation to study again. Hopefully school and life in
general won't get in the way again.
