Please avoid taking this thread off topic. Anyway: I have toyed with the idea of actually learning Classical Arabic to speak it for what it is instead of learning it as a liturgical languages as I do with Sanskrit. But most don't speak classical Arabic day to day I hear, I have never been to the middle east either. For Cantonese I have been neglecting characters, I usually hear something and later on ask a fluent friend what a word means and he tells me and I just use it contextually, I hope to reach past 6,000 characters like native speakers (at the end of my life). So I've studied Mandarin for like 10 hours and I can already have meaningful conversations.
Seems like I'll be fluent in no time! I guess learning a few basic sayings and then practicing them right after is the most effective way to learn a language. Speak from day one--count me as a believer. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||
