Let's not allow a forum addiction to trigger personal comments directed at any other member. We don't want to have to open an HTLAL Rehab Unit!
Yes, I'm an addict, too, I suppose, but I like to think of my participation here as therapeutic.

I've been wondering for the past few days what HTAL stood for. I only just realised...

Thankfully, it doesn't take long to realize that HTAL stands for How To Assassinate Languages.
I kid (only slightly).

Oh, but we are far more subtle than that!
Did you know that an anagram of How To Learn Any Language is:
A Language Hater Only Now?
Only an true addict would put the forum name into an anagram generator. But this result is not true! We LOVE languages . . . a little too much, sometimes.

You mean this forum is like what they say about psychologists, a disease that presents itself as the cure?

You know you're addicted to this forum (AND a language nerd) when you're supposed to be
packing to spend a few days with your relatives in Wales, but you're on here and
answering "important" things - as I have just told my mother a few times. You know you're
supposed to be packing, and there's only my language materials left ("you know you'll be
lost without those, get packing!") but you just can't tear yourself away from the
computer. The likelihood is that I'll throw my language materials into my bag as I'm
running out the door. I do this every time I go to Wales. And anywhere else for that
matter. I never learn.
