Description of what is on the sound file:
This is a short extract from the french comedy 'La vérité si je mens II'. Richard Bohringer as Victor Benzakeim, an Algeria-born french jewish tissue wholeseller gives a job to homeless Richard Anconina as Eddie Vuibert.

Eddie climbs the ladder in the store and decide launch his own business, trying to sell some tissue to a client of his former boss. His tissue gets stolen by somebody before it reaches the clients. If he can't get his goods back, he is a finished man. He suspects his ex boss Victor to have organized the theft and goes to confront him. But Victor takes no shit from anybody, and he is sore at Eddie betraying him and even trying to sell to one of his clients. He gives him a short but memorable lecture on life.

This is one of the few serious scenes in this great comedy.

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Qui t'as permis d'entrer?

Eddie VUIBERT:
Victor, on m'a volé ma marchandise, qui a fait ça?

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Qui t'es pour venir chez moi poser des questions?

Eddie VUIBERT:
Non, non, non! Je veux ma marchandise, c'est tout!

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Alors c'est le seul moyen que t'ai trouvé pour me remercier, me piquer mes clients?

Eddie VUIBERT:
Quoi, quoi, piquer? J'ai rien volé du tout moi. Tout le monde travaille avec tout le monde ici. C'est le business!

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Business? Tu vois, petit, tu aurais pu devenir quelqu'un à mes côtés. Au lieu de ça, tu va repartir comme t'es venu. Une main devant, une main derrière. A poil.

Les petits cons qui veulent aller plus vite que la musique, eh ben ils se cassent toujours la gueule. Alors Deauville, Courchevel, les gourmettes, ta belle montre, tout ça c'est du pipeau. Tu comprends? Du pipeau. Tu te croyais plus malin, hein?

[Eddie bursts into Victor's office]

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Who allowed you to enter?

Eddie VUIBERT:
Victor, my goods were stolen, who did this?

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Who are you to come in my office and ask questions?

Eddie VUIBERT:
No, no, no! I want my goods, that's all!

Victor BENZAKEIM:
So, that's the only way you found to thank me, stealing my clients?

Eddie VUIBERT:
What, what 'stealing'? I stole nothing at all me. Everybody works with everybody here. It's the business!

Victor BENZAKEIM:
Business? You see, son, you could have become somebody on my side. Instead [of this], you will go back as you came. One hand in front, one hand in the back. Naked.
