I like the sound of slavic languages - especially Russian. I also don't mind the sound of
French or Japanese. I dunno if I would class them as beautiful, but I do like the sound of them. The languages I don't particularly like the sound of are Dutch and Spanish. There's just something coarse about them. Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish all sound goofy to me, but I wouldn't describe them as ugly. I like the sound of some African languages such as Zulu and Swahili. I think it might be the ending sounds of the language. I also like the sound of the German language because of the heavy constant sounds that hit the ear. Others describe the German this as harsh. I don't know why? Maybe cultural attitudes? But I also think it depends on how it is spoken. Does the speaker place heavy emphasis on certain syllables or letters when they say the word.

I LOVE the sound of English! (not a very exotic choice though). Among all the language

To me, Ojibwe is a beautiful sounding language.
Very simple phonetics with fairly precise/ consistent pronunciation. I've often read and heard it compared to a soothing babbling brook or stream. R. == 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

From my limited experience at school I much preferred the sound of French to the sound of German, but as I've grown up I've become more drawn to the sound of Slavic languages (particularly Czech but also Russian), which I find quite flowing. I find the sound of Scandinavian languages interesting, although I think I would stop short of calling it beautiful (to my ear). I don't really have enough experience of non-European languages to comment on any others though.
