Most moocs don't count for anything, except for your own satisfaction at learning something and completing the course. Think of them more as "taster" courses than full university courses. If you complete the course as an auditing student, you get a certificate. You can pay a bit of money to have your identity verified, but that's no proof that you've taken the course honestly. There are some sets of mooc courses that result in more than a certificate, if you take a series of courses. But I don't know that any employer would think any more of it than if you read a few books.
As far as what the teachers know, they have tens of thousands of students signing up for some of these courses. They know that most people who sign up don't even start the first lesson, and most people who start the lesson don't go past the first lesson. Team Français! Par Facebook j'ai trouvé un festival du film français sûr l'internet, ouvert seulement de 16 janvier à 16 fevrier. C'est absolument gratuit si on s'inscri avec FB ou Twitter, et il y a plusieurs films. Pourrais être très utile pour améliorer la compréhension parlé!

Hi dear francophones!
I would like to suggest you guys a challenge. It inspired me for the Scandinavian Team Sleipnir, but it is essentially French: it's the challenge COmme d'Habitude, that is, people would base on the patterns of the lyrics from the well-know song Comme d'Habitude and describe their daily routine. a part moi, nous sommes trop occupes en train d'etudier... pour moi ces jours-la c'est
une crise de motivation. il parait que je prefere faire des choses stupides et banales encore, meme des choses nocives pour la sante comme manger beaucoup de sucre en regardant la machine qui produit de la propagande, autrement dit, la tele. Et voila j'ai pense que j'ai battu le diable de procratination hein... je me suis trompe, ca c'est sur. Mais au moins ce n'est pas comme dans le passe quand je me suis arrete d'etudier entierement. Ces jours-la je peux faire au moins un peu :) Comme vous savez, cette histoire c'est seulement une histoire avec un personnage, et ca c'est moi... n'est-ce pas?
