Hey everyone, I want to ask: How to support your friends to raise their spirit in your language (or any others that you know)?
In my language, it is "Semangat!" (Indonesia). Japan: Ganbatte! Korea: Hwaiting! German: Begeisterung! Dutch: Houd moed! Spain: iManten el spiritu! Tagalog: Laban lang! Vietnam: Co len! Hebrew: Shomar roo'ach! Any help is appreciated. Thank you. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

Nope. It depends on the situation. But Begeisterung! ... sounds like a really sarcastic remark when seeing somebody else's frustration. I might say: Kopf hoch! Das wird schon wieder. Nicht aufgeben! Du schaffst das! ... but, usually I'd assume that the other person is already struggling hard and when they're voicing or showing their frustration it's for a reason and they need somebody to listen and take them seriously, and not some commonplaces to make them shut up. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||||||||

I notice you have 화이팅 for Korean. While this is definitely spot on, maybe we could also add '힘내' [Heemnae, or whatever the romanization comes out to], since it is a pure Korean expression, and not a loanword like hwaiting or Japanese's whaito. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||||||||
