Bonjour à tous !

Je suis le cour Using French d'Assimil et j'ai trouvé une phrase qui me semble étrange: "Lisez plutôt", à la leçon 38, que le livre traduit comme "Read on". Je connaissais les sens de ce mot quand utilisé disons dans "j'aime ceci plutôt que cela", ou "c'est une femme plutôt jolie", mais pas ça. Je suppose que ce soit un usage idiomatique, mais je ne trouve rien dans internet et il n'y a pas de explication dans le livre. Pouvez-vous m'aider ?

I think the literal meaning is "Read on better than doing something else, rather keep reading"
There is e.g. also the expression Voyez plutôt, which means "just have a look!".
But ask better natives!
