Ciao a tutti! Sono Leslie, e ho studiato Italiano per circa tre mesi, adesso. Uso
Duolingo, Pimsleur, e Il Piccolo Principe aiutarmi nei miei studi. Ci sono cose
desiderte voi avete fatto in i vostri studi? O cose desiderte NON avete fatto i vostri
studi? Mi dispiace per il mio Italiano brutto.

Translation, because my Italian is bad.

Hi everyone! I'm Leslie, and I have been studying Italian for about 3 months, now. I
use Duolingo, Pimsleur, and The Little Prince to aid me in my studies. Are there
things you wish you had done in your studies, or things you wish you HADN'T done? I'm
sorry for my bad Italian.

Would you be comfortable reading responses in Italian?

Ciao, Leslie! Benvenuta al forum.

Quando facevo i miei primi passi nel apprendimento del Italiano, ero molto incentrato su la
lettura e la scrittura, ma trascuravo l'ascolto e neanche cercavo di sviluppare l'abilità di
parlare correntemente. Secondo me, una cosa fondamentale é praticare quelli aspetti
dall'inizio.

So quello parlare e' importante, ma e' difficile per me a praticare adesso, perche' sono
a casa.

Spero questi consigli ti siano utili. :) Fammi sapere se hai bisogno di una traduzione o se hai altre domande a questo punto.

Good luck with your studies!

Grazie mille, bella_lugosi, per i tuoi consigli. E' molto difficile per me a leggere il
tuo messaggio, ma lo penso capire, o almeno la prima idea.

E' molto difficile per me dice "r" in Italiano. Ho praticato, ma ancora non l'ha fatto
bene. Posso per me quando dico parole come "vorrei" e "burro", ma quand'e' un parole
come "riconosco", non posso.

sfortuamente, non posso per me a capire la tua secondo comma. Se e' possible per te a
lasciare una taduzione, mi piace esso molto.

Ciao! Non hai capito il secondo capitolo (second chapter)? OK, I'll translate it for you. :)

With regards to your question in the first post, there are two things that I should have done differently: if I were a beginner, I would study the verb tenses in a precise order and I would dedicate a lot more attention to oral comprehension, i.e. listening. Istead, I read a lot in the beginning of my studies and I studied the whole grammar in a short time in order to understand better how this language works. This was really useful because once I understood the grammar and learnt the 2000-3000 most important words, I started to speak the language without any problems. As I've already said, the only difficulty was the fact that I wasn't used to listening to spoken Italian.

(This is as literal a translation as possible, so that you can compare the noun and verb forms. :))

By the way, I forgot to tell you that I used to listen to a lot of Italian music and I'd find the lyrics on the internet and then translate them. That is a good way to learn both vocabulary and ready-made sentences that contain massive amounts of grammar, too.
