Do you think it is possible to work for companies having as a qualification only a very
good knowledge in 2 \3 languages (no university degree) certified by organizations such as cambrige esol , goethe institut etc ? 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Italy is a touristic and cosmopolitan country, and that means that languages are always useful.
You could be a guide, with the proper training, or work for companies that deal with tourists or foreign businesses. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Kind of an odd question. It would obviously depend on the company, the kind of work, your work experience…
Working in a store or a restaurant that serves tourists? Sure! Languages would be a big plus! But I somehow get the impression that you're talking about something other than the service industry. And even in the service industry, a language on a resume isn't enough to get you hired. So I'd say that the answer to your question (ie. will languages with no other skills/experience/training get you a job) is almost certainly no. edited to add: I'm also certain that you have skills other than languages. I'm afraid not. Unless it is a job that requires little or no qualification per se. For all others, you need to have education in another field and than the languages become a powerful tool. And even though there may be some jobs requiring basically just the languages, you'll compete against people who have both the skills and a university degree in the language(s). It doesn't matter they might have worse skills than you with your internetional certificate, their title and degree just looks good.
P.S. I have already considered this option thoroughly. Unfortunately, I find so little hope in this direction of thoughts that I am staying with medicine :-( 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

I am actually finishing my Bsc in management engineering and although it is not my
biggest passion i'll stick with it . I was just making conjectures . anyway i am not truly convinced that out there there are so many people with incredible titles and the knowledge at a high level of 2\3 languages , the combination of English ,german and russian at least C1 for instance is already pretty hard to find in my opinion . 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Heh, even good quality English is rarer than it should be. Some teachers at my university and faculty are teaching in English as well. It's a nightmare.
