Dear Community,

since I haven't found a thread like this, I wanted to start one. Please post pictures of your language learning
material. It doesn't matter if you are a rookie or a polyglot, if you have one, two or ten courses/books/etc.

If possible, the titles should be visible, so we all can see, what material you use (e.g. For Dummies,
Teach Yourself) and from what language to what language (e.g. English -> Chinese) and how you keep your
materials.
Update your post, if new materials are added.

Hope everyone enjoys this.

Post your materials!

I have way too much to easily post and some of it is spread in a few totes. Overall I have over 800 books which would be tough to share by photo. I like the concept though.

Do you use other resources besides Teach Yourself? I have 10 or 12 Teach Yourself books which are all fabulous but lately I have been enjoying Assimil which I think, if used in a manner similar to how Luca Lampariello uses it, is an amazing tool. I'm currently working through Assimil's Il Latino Senza Sforzo which is a fabulous book.

I've been building this collection for years now, picking stuff up on sale whenever possible. There's a few textbooks here and there, and a handful of Assimil courses (not shown).

My apologies for the bad lighting.

BDs (nearly all read):

Books (middle shelf, one and a half layers, maybe half read):

TV and movies (more than half watched):

There's some more stuff floating around here and there. But that's the bulk of it.

Sometimes, I really wish somebody would enlist me to help build an online lending library for French students. It would be so much fun to stock up on great pop culture stuff and then share it.

There wouldn't be anything in my photo but a laptop and a stack of children's novels...

I'm looking forward to seeing other people's collections, though!

I have thought of this so many times already. That would be a dream job. Getting money for a hobby and making public that would understand my excitement over "weird" things. :-)

P.S. I am now moving to a new, tiny appartment. But one of the best things is that I will have all my books at one place. I need to find out a system to put those things together so that they would be easily findable. And I may need to put two layers of books to the shelves. But I won't need to use the layer behind for languages I don't tell most people I'm learning yet anymore. I might send photos :-)

My library is terribly disorganized at the moment, but here are most of my Assimils:

See Your language-materials bookshelf? for more photos including a few from learners on Unilang.

As I've posted on that older thread, my collection is spread out on bookshelves, binders in a bunch of old boxes from Safeway and my hard drive.

Depending on how exhibitionist I feel, I may put up a photo or two soon.
