A Russian-speaking friend was recently asked to teach Russian grammar online to a woman living in England. He asked me for some good sites that would help him explain the tricky parts of his language, ie. the cases (падежи) and such. Here's what I recommended to him:
******************************
UsefulEnglish.ru
This site has a lot of grammar explanations in Russian and in English, as well as useful study tips.

RussianLessons.net
Lots of explanations of the cases here and nice podcasts (listening files).

Learn Russian from Russia Today
An easy-to-use website from Russia Today. Very interactive, lots of lessons. They seem to include the grammar as part of the lesson, rather than a separate subject. I think this is the best way for most beginners to be exposed to Russian's grammar.

Have Fun With Russian
This beautifully designed site is called Have Fun with Russian... and it does look fun! It's produced RIA Novesti, or Russian International News Agency.

Have Fun With RussianBeginning Russian thru Film
In the 90s there was a Beginning Russian through Film class at Cornell University. I think they've created an excellent website! They use very short clips from popular Soviet films and include transcripts and translations. Not much of a focus on grammar but GREAT for working on listening skills.

Also, I just want to mention http://ankisrs.net/. Anki is a free flashcard program for your computer/phone/iPod that uses spaced repetition. This means that instead of seeing the same flashcards every day, you decide how often you'll review a certain card by telling the program how well you know the word. This is great for language learning, as we often remember a word for a period of time and then forget it. Anki can help prevent this vocabulary loss. And of course, you can create your own deck from scratch or load a pre-existing deck.
******************************

Does anyone else have a good site to add? Since my friend is teaching a beginner, he's looking for pretty basic sites but if you know a site for advanced learners, please post it too! On a good day I call myself an advanced learner :P and I'm always looking for new resources.

Thank you!

I had a post here http://how-to-learn-any-language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?T ID=30949&PN=1&TPN=1#355897that is a huge list of Russian online resources. Something there might help.

Thank you for this! I was just asking Solfrid Cristina if she knew of good Russian resources, so I will be able to use this well.
