Hey everyone!
Ive been studying Arabic for, well not that long actually. I am starting to read and write quite alright anyway, though the speaking skills are so far lacking. Anywaays, while listening to a podcast, I came across a poem by this poet. I thought it sounded extremely good by his recitation, but I dont understand the words at all. It is in Sa3eedy Egyptian dialect, which kind of explains it I suppose. Anyways, does anyone have the ability to translate it word by word for me? :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hABdYHlRDJI ولا كنا نعرف الف.. ولا كنا نعرف به ولا شفنا عمرنا نور ..غير لما قمرك جه وفضلتى رمز الامان.. والناس مالقياش وطن وزرعت قمح وغيطان.. و غلبت كل المحن اقف انتباه يا زمان.. مصر الابيه اهه ولا كنا نعرف الف.. ولا كنا نعرف به والدفه... والدفه لو مالت.. نعدلها بكتافنا اسمك فى حناجرنا.. واغانينا واكتافنا مصر اى نقشت حجر.. وعلمتنا العد مصر الى جيشها عبر.. مصر الى بنت السد لا تعبنا يوم من السفر.. ولا كل مجدافنا والدفه لو مالت.. نعدلها بكتافنا 1 person has voted this message useful |
