Now I've got a question - due to the nature of Russian vowel reduction, where, in Levi's
word, the last syllable would be pronounced something like "ka", and not "ko", as the
spelling suggests, should I now suggest a word which conforms to the spelling, or the
pronunciation?

Depending on which we want to use...

Koliko (ko-li-ko) - "how many, how much?" - Slovene
Карандаш (ka-ran-dash) - pencil, Russian.

Good question. I'm going to assume we're following the spelling, since it will be more difficult to find exact pronunciation matches between languages.

心 (kokoro)
